Funeral services are pending at Treviño Funeral Home for Erineo Garcia. Mr. Garcia, 76, of Pettus died Tuesday.
Mrs. Garcia
Juanita Jimenez Garcia, 84, of Robstown, died on Monday, July 14, 2008.
She was born on Jan. 9, 1924, in Beeville to Nicanor and Sabas Desiga Jimenez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Refugio Garcia; a granddaughter, Julie Maldonado; two brothers, Epifanio Robles and Manuel Robles; her sister, Concepcion Perez; and son-in-law, Victor Gonzalez.
Survivors are her children, Rosa Gonzalez, Cecilio J. (Marcy) Rodriguez, Gloria (Ramiro) Tellez, and Esther Cardona, all of Corpus Christi, Mary Lou (Franklin) Hansley of Freeport, Lupe (Fred) Fioranza of Riverside, Calif., and Estella (Juan) Lopez of Denver, Colo.; her brother, Cecilio Robles of Odessa; one sister-in-law, Natalia Robles of Porterville, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. this evening (Wednesday) at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Robstown followed by interment at Robstown Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to Ramon Funeral Home in Robstown.

Funeral services are pending at Treviño Funeral Home for Victor Gonzales Sr. Mr. Gonzales, 78, of Pettus, died Tuesday.
Mrs. Hinojosa
Maria Hinojosa, 75, of Beeville, died on Sunday, July 13, 2008.
She was born in Laredo to Maria Refugia and Erasmo De Los Santos on Aug. 30, 1932. She was a retired home health provider.
She was preceded in death by one son, Hector D. Hinojosa.
She is survived by five sons, Baldemar D. (Janie) Hinojosa Jr. of Pearsall, Ruben D. (Toni) Hinojosa of Sinton, Reynaldo D. (Delia) Hinojosa of Victoria, Amador D. (Jennifer) Hinojosa of Portland, and Ramiro D. Hinojosa of Uvalde; one daughter, Mary Jane Hinojosa of Beeville; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating.

Mr. May
H.W. “Woody” May, 87, of Beeville, died on Monday, July 14, 2008.
He was born to Esther A. Maker and William C. May on Jan. 9, 1921. He married Fanna Copley in Suffolk, Va., on July 20, 1948. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was retired from the Navy and the civil service. He was self-employed in the refrigeration and air conditioning business and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Beeville Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and Al Amin Shriners.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fanna Copley May, on Aug. 1, 2006; one brother, William J. May; and one sister, Iva May.
Survivors include one daughter, Meg E. (Robert C.) Ford of Beeville; three grandchildren, Dustin L. Ford, Dean W. Ford and Darci Westmoreland; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 o’clock tonight (Wednesday) at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Duke and Rev. Vivian Woods officiating. Interment will be held at Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Mr. Perez
Mr. Martin G. Perez, 63, of Beeville, died on Monday, July 14, 2008.
He was born on April 23, 1945, in Beeville, to Demesio and Barbarita Perez. He was retired from the Bee County Road & Bridge Department after 20 years of employment.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dora Contreras; and two brothers, Nicholas Perez and Demesio Perez Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Estella Perez of Beeville; four sons, Martin (Sandra) Perez Jr. of Refugio, Rudy Perez, Arthur (Norma) Perez and David Perez, all of Beeville; two daughters, Melissa (Roman) Tovar and Emily (Jaime) Espinoza, both of Beeville; two brothers, Santos Perez and Luis Perez, both of Beeville; one sister, Balentina Gomez; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Prayer services will be held at 7 o’clock this evening (Wednesday) at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held there at 10 a.m. Thursday, followed by burial at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers will be Artie Perez, Isaac Perez, Jaime Espinoza, Marcus Perez, Roman Tovar and Tony Gomez Jr.

Mr. West
John Eldridge West, 73, of Brenham, TX, died July 11, 2008 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
He was born April 3, 1935 in Pettus, TX, son of the late Jake Samuel West and Alberta Selena (Hutchison) West. He graduated from Texas A&M University in the class of 1957, received his Master of Education in 1971 and played the trombone in the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. He typed football and basketball play-by-plays in the Kyle Field press box and G. Rollie White Coliseum for 41 years. West wrote and edited sports at The Eagle newspaper in Bryan, TX from 1960 to 1965. He was also a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1958 to1966. West was employed at Texas A&M University for 30 years as special events editor in the University News Service and was the Photographic and Visual Aids Laboratory manager. On May 12, 1994, he married Susan Hawkins at Ft. Davis, TX. An amateur astronomer, West retired to Gay Hill, TX and enjoyed viewing the night skies with a variety of telescopes. His was a 62-year-long avocation, from age 11 in the oil patch of Northwest Goliad, TX.
Survivors include: wife, Susan West; sister, Frances Dunn of Kenedy, TX; two daughters, Alicia Reilly and husband Tom of Vienna, VA and Amy Sisco of Bryan, TX; two stepdaughters, Erin Hawkins of College Station, TX and Kelly Hawkins of Cherry Point, NC; two grandchildren, Paden and Hayley Sisco of Bryan, TX.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 16, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral service will be Thursday, July 17 at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, The Aggie Band Association or True Blue Animal Rescue of Brenham.
