Mr. Arredondo
Jose Antonio Arredondo, 31, of Beeville, died on Thursday, April 24, 2008.
He was born in Beeville on Sept. 5, 1976. He worked for the Pettus Drilling Company and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elena Arredondo.
Survivors include his wife, Christina Martinez Arredondo of Beeville; two sons, Jose Antonio Arredondo Jr. and Ryan Arredondo, both of Beeville; two daughters, Jenette Mae Arredondo and Kristen Arredondo, both of Beeville; his father, Margarito Arredondo Sr. of Beeville; four brothers, Margarito (Irene) Arredondo Jr., Jose Angel (Grace) Arredondo and Erik (Debra) Waddell, all of Beeville, and Steven Waddell of Dallas; six sisters, Lupita (George) Hiatt of Dallas, Lily (Javier) Sanchez, Elia Keller, Norma (Martin) Esparza, Mary Jane (Leslie) Gay and Sandra (Eduvige) Perez, all of Beeville; and paternal grandmother, Elvira Chavarria of Beeville.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the Treviño Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Eddie Garcia officiating. Burial followed at Evangelico Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Robert Perez, Adrian Dominguez, Erik Waddell, Daniel Dominguez, Gilbert Keller, Rafael Arredondo, Steven Waddell and Javier Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers were Eduvige Perez Jr., Anthony Puga, Anthony Sandoval and Danny Arredondo.

Mr. Billings
Lloyd “Charles” Billings, 74, of Canyon Lake died on Sunday, April 20, 2008, at his home.
He was born June 4, 1933, in Beeville to Lloyd Chester Billings and Frieda Borchers Billings. He was an avid athlete at A.C. Jones High School, participating in and lettering in numerous sports. He was a 1950 graduate of A.C. Jones High School and went on to graduate in 1955 from the University of Corpus Christi where he majored in chemistry.
He married Peggy Gail McGowan on April 7, 1978, in Richmond. He was in the oil and gas exploration business. He was a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, the Admiral Texas Navy, Knights of San Jacinto, Honorary Texas Ranger, The Peace Officers Memorial Commission, Petroleum Clubs of San Antonio, Longhorn Foundation, design and financing of monument for Col. William Barrett Travis and a member of the board of directors of the Guadalupe Valley Telephone Cooperative.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Gail Billings of Canyon Lake; his first wife and mother of his children, Shirley Hutchins Billings Cox of Beeville; three children, L. Charles Billings Jr. of Houston, David Clark Billings and his wife Sharon of Albuquerque, N.M., and Deanna Cheryl Billings Blackwell of Beeville; one sister, Verna Jean Turner of Corpus Christi; one sister-in-law, Carol Baird Billings of Corpus Christi; three grandchildren, Julie, Jerry Dean and Jamie Blackwell; and numerous cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James E. Billings.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 3, at 2 p.m. at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in Canyon Lake, located at 1071 FM 2673, with Rev. Ronald D. Zipp officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements were entrusted to Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in Canyon Lake.
Mrs. Dunn
Melanie Dunn, 26, of Midland and formerly of Monahans, died on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in Midland.
She was born on July 16, 1981, in Payson, Utah. She was a nurse’s aide.
Survivors include her husband, Craig McInnis of Beeville; two sons, Jordin Paul Dunn and Jayden Andrew McInnis, both of Midland; a daughter, Avree Kaye McInnis of Midland; her mother, Donna Smith and husband Curtis of Midland; her father, Paul Dunn and wife Lynette of Cleburne; two brothers, Andrew Dunn of Newburgh, N.Y., and Michael Brown of Springville, Utah; and one sister, Laurie Walker of Cleburne.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Monahans Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with John Bell officiating.
Services were under the direction of Harkey Family Funeral Services in Monahans.
Mr. Everett
Ned Everett, 96, a long time resident of Beeville, Texas passed away gently on Friday, April 25, 2008. Mr. Everett had lived since 2000 with his daughter, Sabra Everett, in Hollister, California. He is survived by Sabra; his daughter, Louise Graham, Lexington, Kentucky; his granddaughter, Mary Louise (Nick) Pozaric; and a great-grandson, Graham Everett Pozaric. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Lou, in 2003.
Mr. Everett retired from the First National Bank of Beeville in 1976, after serving as Executive Vice-President. He came to Beeville in October, 1937 to work as an Assistant Cashier. He and his wife were active in the First Methodist Church of Beeville as well as other community organizations, including the Girl Scouts and United Way. Many Beeville residents will remember Mr. Everett’s train room, a hobby he pursued daily after his retirement.
He led a full and active life until his last days and he was always interested in everything around him. His favorite pastime in California was genealogy, which he pursued on the computer. Through the internet he stayed connected with friends in Beeville and across the world. The e-mails that he received weekly from friends and relatives from Texas to Australia enriched his life and kept him in great spirits. He was a joy to care for and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends, including his loving canine companions, MLE (Emily) and Sophie.
Mr. Fojtik
Timothy R. Fojtik, 48, of Beeville, died suddenly on Sunday, April 27, 2008, in Beeville.
He was born Dec. 3, 1961, to Rudy and Debbie Lee Fojtik in Beeville. He was a 1978 graduate of A.C. Jones High School. He was employed as a gate guard in the oil field industry.
He is survived by a sister, Kathryn Fojtik of North Carolina; brothers, Michael (Elizabeth) Fojtik of Goliad, Patrick (Annette) Fojtik of Houston, and Joe (Rita Smith) Fojtik of Beeville; six nieces, Andrea, Lisa, Lori, Emily, Hayley and Kelcey; and one nephew, Travis.
He was preceded in death by parents, Rudy and Dovey Lee Fojtik.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 5 p.m. at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church of Beeville with Rev. Adrian Amaya presiding.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Maxwell Dunne Funeral Home of Corpus Christi.
Mrs. Robinson
Betty L. Robinson, 83, died on Tuesday, April 29, 2008.
She was born on Jan. 30, 1925, to Clarence and Mary Henry in Cadiz. She graduated from A.C Jones High School in 1942 and married her husband of 39 years on Dec. 14, 1945.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence R. “Bunny” Robinson; daughter, Linda Kay Fisher; and great-grandson, Benjamin Robinson.
She is survived by her son, Bobby (Nan) Robinson; two daughters, Sandra Leonard and Barbara (Mark) Hedrick; six grandchildren, Robert Robinson, Jr., Paul Fisher, Stephanie Laubach-Pena, Matthew Fisher, Kristan Hedrick and Kevin Leonard, Jr.; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Seaside Chapel in Corpus Christi and family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held there Friday at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Robert Robinson Jr., Paul Fisher, Matthew Fisher, Kevin Leonard Jr., Rick Webb and Michael Owen.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Arrangements were entrusted to Seaside Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Corpus Christi.
Mrs. Wardlaw
Ruth McCulley Wardlaw, 77, died on Sunday, April 27, 2008.
She was born to Elizabeth Walker and Roy Lee McCulley on June 4, 1930, in Del Rio. She graduated from Our Lady of the Lake as valedictorian in 1968 and earned her master’s degree. She was a college librarian from 1968 to 1992.
She is survived by one son, Watt Wardlaw of San Antonio; one daughter, Denise Wardlaw of Pineland; two sisters, Roylyn Coufal of Gonzales and Patsy Page of Kerrville; one grandson, Ben Truitt; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
