In Kingsland, Maurice was active in the Lion’s Club and served on the board of directors for the Kingsland Municipal Utility District. In 2000, the couple moved back to South Texas and settled in Corpus Christi, to be close to their extended families. In 2006 they returned to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to be near their son.
