- Mrs. Baltazar
Estella G. Baltazar, 73, of Beeville died on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008.
She was born in Beeville on Jan. 19, 1935, to Antonio and Amanda Suniga Garcia. She married Ruben Baltazar in Beeville on May 5, 1955. She was a retired clerk from K-Mart. She was a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Baltazar, in 2005; and her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Ruben Baltazar of Beeville; one son, Ruben Rene (JoAnn) Baltazar of Beeville; three daughters, Irene (Edmundo) Hernandez and Elvira (Vera) Cagle, both of Beeville, and Maria Dolores (Rudy “Lito”) Montez of San Antonio; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Angelus Funeral Home, with a rosary recited there at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Interment followed at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Edmond Hernandez, Joe Hector Hernandez, Robert Hernandez, Larry Baltazar, Ciri Villarreal, Gilbert Arguijo, Joe Anthony Baltazar, Eloy Rodriguez and Andy Carrizales. Honorary pallbearers were Erica Elaine Cagle, Yvette Garcia, Bobby Baltazar, Jimmy Baltazar and Gilbert Lozano.

Mr. Benavides
Benito Benavides, 81, of Beeville died on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008.
He was born to Alvaro and San Juana Garcia Benavides on June 26, 1926, in Goliad. He was retired from the City of Beeville. He was a Catholic.
He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe T. Benavides of Beeville; three sons, Joe (Nora) Benavides of Corpus Christi, Benny Benavides Jr. and George H. (Lucy) Benavides, both of Beeville; five daughters, Linda Jane (Connie) Benavides of Corpus Christi, Martina (Santos) Garcia, Dora Alicia (Simon Ernest Jr.) Rincon, and Consuelo Benavides, all of Beeville, and Teresa (Darrel) Hicks of Runge; one brother, Luis Benavides of Nacogdoches; two sisters, Ofelia DeLaGarza and Carmen Carabajal, both of Beeville; 24 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today (Saturday) at Angelus Funeral Home with a rosary recited there at 7 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Eddie Garcia officiating. Interment will follow at Berclair Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Benny Benavides, George H. Benavides, Henry Mata, Simon Ernest Rincon, Ernest Benito Rincon and Joe Benavides.

Bradfute
Annie E. Bradfute, 94, of Beeville died on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008.
She was born to Carl and Sara Fia Johnson Ikonen on Jan. 19, 1914, in Powers Lake, N.D. She married Bascom Bradfute on Feb. 25, 1931, in Tynan. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Ballou of Three Rivers and Janice Wilson of Van Vleck; three sons, Malcom Bradfute of Jay, Okla., Charles Bradfute and Kenneth Bradfute, both of Swinney Switch; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Galloway & Sons Chapel. Funeral services will be held there at 2 p.m. today (Saturday) with Mr. Joshua Rodriguez officiating. His grandchildren and nieces will provide vocal music. Interment will follow at Argenta Cemetery.

Mr. Herrmann
William M. Herrmann, 64, formerly of Beeville, died on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008.
He was a retired Air Force parachute supervisor and worked at Mount St. Mary’s Convent for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, William Jr. of Panama, Les and Andrew of Wichita, Kan.; daughters, Kristine Herrmann, Sheila Oliver and Marla Graham, all of Wichita, Kan., and Danette King of Alabama; his father, Harold Lee of Texas; one brother, Harold Jr. of Texas; one sister, Adonna Dugat of Kerrville; and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita, Kan.
Arrangements were entrusted to Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita, Kan.

Mrs. Schiro
Corpus Christi - Ida Lorene Foley Schiro, 86, passed peacefully onto eternal rest with our Lord and Savior on February 11, 2008, while in her sleep in Corpus Christi, Texas.
She was born March 1, 1921, in Taft, Texas, to Lee Daniel and Lela Augusta Foley. She attended elementary school in Sinton and middle and high school in Beeville where her family farmed in the Orangedale Community. She attended college in San Antonio and moved to Corpus Christi with her parents during World War II where she met and married Bennie Schiro. They moved to Alice, Texas, where she lived for the next forty years. Ida was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alice where she taught Sunday School for 35 years, sang in the choir, taught GA’s and Training Union.
She also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Alice Volunteer Fire Department. In 1963, she was employed by the Jim Wells County Soil Conservation Service and went on to work for Social Security where she earned numerous awards for exemplary work. She retired in 1985 and moved to Corpus Christi where she was a member of Parkdale Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard, cooking, painting, writing children’s stories, family gatherings and babysitting her grandchildren.
Mrs. Schiro was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-three years, Bennie Schiro; her parents; one brother, Aubrey Lee Foley; one sister, Frankie Foley Martin; two step-sons, Bernard Thomas Schiro and Paul David Schiro; a granddaughter, Lisa Schiro; and a grandson, Charles Clayton Haas.
Survivors include her children, Janis L. Schiro Haas (Richard) of Corpus Christi, Bennie Lee Schiro (Sandy) of Corpus Christi and Henry R. Schiro (Marcie) of Kingsville; one sister, Virginia Foley Nelson of San Antonio; one brother, John William Foley (Jeanette) of Alice; eleven grandchildren, Terri Schiro Geymer (Steve), Paul Vincent Schiro, Bennie Schiro Jr. (Brenda), Lee Daniel Schiro, Morgan Marie Schiro, Antony Schiro (Wendy), Cara Schiro-Porter (Morris), Kerri Kimel, Colton Bryan Haas (Alyson), Richard Bradford Haas (Toni), and Emily Suzanne Haas; eight great-grandchildren, Alana and Jonothan Geymar, Charles Clayton Kimel, Amara Cathleen Bugle, Gavin Lee Schiro, Taylor, Tara and Alyssa Clobfelter.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 13, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice.
The funeral service will be held at 10 :00 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Alice. Burial will follow in the Alice Cemetery.

Mrs. Sirkel
Julia Ann Sirkel, 67, loving wife and mother, passed away quietly in her sleep on February 12, 2008.
She was born September 2, 1940, in Logan, West Virginia, to her parents, Andrew and Etta (Evans) Lycans. Julia was a member of the First Baptist Church. She worked in the past for Bee County as a jailer. She married her husband, Jay Sirkel< July 7, 1972, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Julia is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Jay Sirkel; four children, David Ellis and his wife, Karen, Terri Rangel and her husband Marty, Stephanie Neeley and Natalie Brew and her husband Tom; one sister, Pat Staley; two brothers, Andrew Lycans, Jr. and Bill Lycans; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
No services pending. It was Julia’s wish not to have a funeral or memorial service. In her own words “I want all my family to be able to just get on living their life, not mourning mine.” Julia expressed she in very happy in the path she chose in life. The family is asking in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in er name to Hospice.
