Larry Bartlett, 62, of Beeville died on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008.
He was born Feb. 25, 1945, in Black Mountain, N.C., to Archie and Beatrice Cordell Bartlett. He earned an associates degree in business management. He married San Juanita Valencia in Beeville on June 17, 1972. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and had also worked for Kay & Associates and Boeing. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Bartlett; and one sister, Bonnie Jean Cordell.
Survivors include his wife, San Juanita Bartlett of Beeville; one daughter, Patricia Ann Zambrano of Beeville; two sons, Andrew Lee Bartlett of Beeville and John Eric Bartlett of Lompoc, Calif.; four granddaughters, Olivia Grace Bartlett, Courtney Jane Bartlett, Angelica Nicole Bartlett and Madeline Kate Zambrano; and two nieces, Jennifer and Jessica Bartlett.
Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at Galloway & Sons Chapel with a prayer service held there at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held there at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Jesse Berthold officiating. Interment followed in San Pedro Cemetery in the Clareville community.
Pallbearers were Andrew and John Bartlett, Robert, Ricky and David Valencia and Fred Canas.

Mrs. Haney
Billie M. Haney, 80, of Beeville died on Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, in a local hospital.
She was born on May 11, 1927, in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roy L. Haney of Beeville; two sons, David Lee Haney of Phoenix, Ariz., and Morris Gene (Linda) Haney of Beeville; one sister, Beva Bostivick of Elk City, Okla.; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Tim and Rebekah; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Trevino Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Beeville Memorial Park with Tommy Stogner and Jerry Dunson officiating. Special music, “I’ll Fly Away,” will be sung by Dunson.
Pallbearers will be her three grandsons, Gary Beebe, Tim Pippin and Tom Dyer, Wood Harrod, George Moft and Mike Wilkenson. Honorary pallbearers will be George Houmes and Cliff Barnett.

Mrs. Loeffler
Maxine (Noah) Loeffler, age 75, of Pleasanton, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, in San Antonio, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Christian Daniel Loeffler Sr. of Pleasanton; daughters, Cynthia Oliver and husband Rod of Three Rivers, Deborah Barrow and husband Dan of Pleasanton, and son, Christian D. Loeffler Jr. and wife Kate of Houston. She is also survived by her grandchildren, John Barrow, Daniel Barrow, Jarod Oliver, Morgan Loeffler, Kaylynn Oliver, Caleigh Oliver, Christian Loeffler III, and Michael Joseph Loeffler, as well as great-grandchildren, Kamryn Abbot, Landon Barrow, and Ashlyn Barrow.
Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 West Oaklawn Road, Pleasanton, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, January 4, 2008. The family received friends between the hours of 6-8 PM on Friday evening. The funeral services were held at the First United Methodist Church in Pleasanton at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 5, 2008. Mrs. Naylor
Joyce Gregorczyk Naylor, 76, of Beeville died on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008.
She was born on Sept. 6, 1931, in Papalote to Bonnie and Fannie Mae VanNess Gregorczyk. She married Grover F. Naylor Jr. in Papalote on Dec. 14, 1950. She was retired from Commercial National Bank as the note department vice president.
She is survived by two sons, Grover F. “Trey” (Teena) Naylor and Clay Andrew Naylor, both of Clareville; five sisters, Geraldine Bobbitt of Papalote, Margie Patterson and Bill Brown, both of Taft, Shirley (Raymond) Raska and Jenny (Bud) Grice, both of Sinton; one brother, A.J. (Sandy) Gregorczyk of Papalote; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Angelus Funeral Home. Funeral services were held there at 3 p.m. Monday. Burial was held at Clareville Cemetery in the Clareville community.

Mr. Robbins
Leroy W. Robbins, 78, of Kenedy died on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital in San Antonio.
He was born on Feb. 7, 1929, in Three Rivers to Otto and Franke Webster Smith. He received his BA in business management from Texas A&I University. On July 23, 1977, he married Sue Vaughn in Corpus Christi. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Korean Conflict. He taught computer programming at Coastal Bend College prior to retiring and was in charge of the fixed assets at Coastal Bend College at the time of his death. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Kenedy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otto Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Vaughn Robbins of Kenedy; his mother, Franke Webster Smith of Kenedy; one daughter, Linda Jeanette Robbins Castleberry of Vancouver, Wash.; one son, Don Leroy Robbins of Vancouver, Wash.; four grandchildren, Samantha Marshall, Kayla Castleberry, Jennifer Castleberry and Zack Robbins; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Eckols Funeral Home Chapel in Kenedy. Funeral services will be held there at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Joe Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow at Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy.

Mrs. Sachtleben
Clara Sachtleben, 91, of Yorktown died on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008.
She was born July 11, 1916, to Fritz and Martha Hoerig Harbers in Dreyer in Gonzales County. She was baptized Sept. 10, 1916, in the Dreyer Lutheran Church and was confirmed April 30, 1933, in the Nordheim Lutheran Church. She attended Menger School near Shiner and graduated from Nordheim High School in 1935 as valedictorian.
She married Harry Sachtleben on April 16, 1936. Together they were farmers, ranchers and dairy operators. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Miriam Circle. She taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school, was president of the Yorktown High School Band Boosters and president of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a seamstress and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; three sisters, Elsa Mueller, Edna Harbers and Adeline Harbers; one brother, Edgar Harbers; one grandson, Robert John Sachtleben; and one great-grandson, Karl William Sehlke.
She is survived by two sons, Don and wife Johnnie Ann of Normanna and Glen and wife Jo of Gonzales; three granddaughters, Donna Bookman, Vickie Woodcroft and Heleine Carolyn Sachtleben; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Finch Funeral Chapel in Yorktown. Funeral services will be held there at 2 p.m. Friday, followed by interment at Nordheim Cemetery.

Apolonia Perez Saenz, 77, of Beeville died on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at Victoria Warm Springs Hospital in Victoria.
She was born on Oct. 30, 1930, in Beeville to Rosa Salazar and Cipriano Perez. She married Tomas S. Saenz on Oct. 6, 1946, in Beeville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Soledad Garcia and Guadalupe Campos; and one brother, Maclovio Perez.
Survivors include her husband, Tomas S. Saenz; one son, Tomas P. (Irma) Saenz Jr. of Beeville; two sisters, Maria (Alejando) Trevino and Rosa Hinojosa, both of Beeville; one brother, Jesus (Anita) Perez of Clareville; one grandchild, Renee Guajardo; and two great-grandchildren.
A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Trevino Funeral Home. Funeral services were held there at 10 a.m. Monday with Pastor Fernando Gonzales officiating. Interment followed at Beeville Memorial Park.

Mr. Salazar
Jose Maria P. Salazar, 71, of Beeville died on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008.
He was born on Dec. 19, 1936, in Beeville to Julian and Masima Pineo Salazar. He was a retired backhoe operator for Coastline Construction in Refugio. He was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Carmel Garcia.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Cindy Cantu and husband Richard of Beeville, and Janie Slocum of Lansing, Mich.; one stepson, David Banda of Beeville; one sister, Julia Bridge of Normanna; eight step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Galloway & Sons Chapel with a rosary recited there at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Galloway & Sons Chapel. Interment followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.

Funeral services are pending at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home for Viola Stewart. Mrs. Stewart, 90, of Portland, formerly of Beeville, died today (Wednesday), Jan. 9.

Mr. Trantham
Grady Bryan Trantham, 84, of Beeville died on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008.
He was born Nov. 23, 1923, in Childress to Annie Mae Avery and Noah Paul Trantham. He was married Dec. 10, 1945, in Yuma, Ariz., to Virgie Gold Morris. He was a member of Skidmore United Methodist Church and worked in property management.
Survivors include his wife, Virgie G. “Tootsie” Trantham of Beeville; one daughter, Patty Sue Holloway of Houston; one granddaughter, Jane Nicole Holloway; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Skidmore United Methodist Church in Skidmore with Rev. Jason Calvert officiating.

Mrs. Troell
Mary K. McKinney Troell, 93, of Live Oak County died on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1914, in Live Oak County to Ellen Dolan and Dee McKinney. She married Jerome Troell on May 4, 1930, in Live Oak County. She was a lifelong member of St. George Catholic Church and was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her stepmother, Alvina Gregorcyk McKinney; one brother, MacDee McKinney; three sisters, Laura Dickenson, Cecilia Gregorcyk and Myrtle Rosebrock; two grandchildren; and three sons-in-law.
Survivors are her children, Marian Burkhardt of Corpus Christi, Jerome Troell Jr. and Virginia (Sherman) Clifton, both of Oakville, Patricia Holland and Michael (Judy) Troell, both of Cuero, Ellen Snider, Theodore (Judy) Troell, and Mary Beth (Ken) Blevins, all of George West, Luther (Janis) Troell of Rochester, N.Y., Gilbert Ray (Patti) Troell of Cloudcroft, N.M., and Evelyn Jo (David) Newman of Alice; 46 grandchildren; and 67 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at St. George Catholic Church in George West with a rosary recited there at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated there at 3 p.m. Sunday with Father Joseph Olikkarra officiating, assisted by Father Michael Howell. Barbara Bednorz provided organ music. Interment followed at Gussettville Cemetery, where her ancestors are buried.

Rogelio Valdez, 63, of Normanna died on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
He was born in Corpus Christi on Nov. 1, 1944, to Felipe A. and Inez Villarreal Valdez. He was a construction worker.
He was preceded in death by his father, Felipe A. Valdez; one sister, Viola Tejada; and one brother, Felipe Valdez Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Noemi Gray of Normanna; his mother, Inez Villarreal Valdez of Normanna; one daughter, Gloria Bolado of Austin; two sons, Rogelio Valdez Jr. and Lionel Valdez, both of Corpus Christi; one sister, Sylvia Morroquin of Elgin; and three brothers, Enrique, Daniel and Eduardo Valdez, all of Corpus Christi.
Funeral services will be private.

Mr. Willis
Larry Willis, at the age of 55, passed away Monday, January 7, 2008 at his home after a long battle with a terminal illness.
He was born January 21, 1952 in Baytown, Texas to Crawford Layfette Willis and Edna Mae Williams Willis. He retired from H. B. Zachary Corp. and resided on a ranch where he became a cowboy. He enjoyed his time at his George West Ranch and the Colorado Farm. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in George West, where he came to know and love Christ as well as completed his Walk to Emmaus. He had prior passions for motorcycles, weightlifting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Crawford Layfette Willis; his grandmothers, Claudia Pearl Williams and Fannie Mae Willis; his grandson, Cory Devon Willis; and his sister, Margaret Willis.
He is survived by his wife, DiAnna Willis of George West, Texas; his sons, Cory Eugene Willis and wife Amy of Denver, Colorado and Colton Layfette Willis of College Station, Texas; his step-daughter, Heather Brooke Dobson of Jourdanton, Texas; his mother, Edna Mae Willis of Dayton, Texas; his sisters, Karen Hinson, Marie Hatcher and her husband Mitch and Glenda Jones and her husband Carl all of Dayton, Texas; and his grandson, Chase Devon Willis.
Visitation will be from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at First United Methodist Church in George West with Rev. Doug Hinchcliff and Rev. Ken Houston officiating.  Graveside services will be conducted at Noon Thursday, January 10, 2008 at San Jacinto Memorial Park in Houston, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Cory Willis, Colton Willis, Mitch Hatcher, Carl Jones, Maynard Menn, Danny Johnson, Ralph Gilley and Steve Albert.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the American Cancer Society or to Shriner’s Hospital.
