- Mrs. Amador
Isabel (Chavela) Amador, 73, of Beeville died on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007.
She was born on Oct. 4, 1934, in Mineral to Procopio and Antonia Gonzales Rodriguez. She married Valentin Amador Jr. in 1956 in Beeville. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and was a cook and housekeeper for Beeville ISD.
She was preceded in death by one son, Israel Amador; two brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Valentin of Beeville; two daughters, Mary Jane (Ricardo) Cantu and Lina (Claudio Mancias) Amador, both of Beeville; three sons, Valentine (Patty) Amador III, David Amador and Danny (Patsy) Amador, all of Beeville; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one brother, Antonio Rodriguez of Beeville.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there at 7 p.m. Monday. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Luke officiating. Interment followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2 in Beeville.
Pallbearers were Ramon Rodriguez, Jerry Rodriguez, Israel Amador Jr., Ricardo Cantu, John Thomas Amador and Johnny Martinez. Honorary pallbearers were Priscilla Lynn Amador, Isabel Luz Amador, Felipa Dolores Amador, Amanda Marie Amador and Maria Isabel Amador.

Mrs. Cook
Betty Jo Cook, 95, of Beeville died on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007.
She was born on April 1, 1912, in Live Oak County to Hugo and Nellie Kinkler Uhlig. She was a retired cashier and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Carl Cook.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Greg Traylor officiating. Interment followed there.

Mr. DeRusse
Jesus “Jessie” R. DeRusse Jr., 90, of Beeville died on Friday, Dec. 14, 2007.
He was born July 2, 1917, in Pettus to Alfredo and Josefa Ramos DeRusse. On Dec. 21, 1941, he married Anita Tapia in Beeville. He was a retired driver and custodian for Bee Community Action Agency. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by one son, Joe Henry DeRusse; four brothers, Alfredo, Louis, Salatiel and Robert DeRusse; and one sister, Virginia Fernandez.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Tapia DeRusse of Beeville; two sons, Jesse T. DeRusse Jr. and wife Julie Earnest DeRusse of Beeville, and Eddie DeRusse and wife Yolanda of Austin; one daughter, Mary Ann Silva and husband Joe of El Paso; one sister, Magdalena “Mary” Jarvis of San Antonio; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Angelus Funeral Home with a rosary recited there at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Luke officiating. Interment followed at Evangelico Cemetery.

Mrs. Fields
Martha Allen Fields, 54, died on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Hermann Hospital in Houston.
She was born in Temple on Jan. 12, 1953, to John R. and Dorothy Allen. She was a 1971 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler and attended the University of Texas in Austin, graduating in 1975 with a degree in education. She taught school for 24 years in Beeville, Bellaire and Fulshear. She was a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, John R. Allen.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jim L. Fields of Fulshear; one son, 1st Lt. James Allen, U.S. Army; one daughter, Laura Elizabeth Fields of Houston; her mother, Dorothy Allen of Tyler; one brother, Scott Allen and wife Pansy of Wilmington, Del.; several nieces and nephews and many other family members.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston.

Beatrice Raynor, 87, of Tuleta died on Friday, Dec. 14, 2007.
She was born on Dec. 15, 1919. She was a homemaker.
Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. Interment followed at Sinton Cemetery in Sinton.

Mrs. Smith
Cleo Nation Smith, 88, of Beeville died on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, in Beeville.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1919, in Harwood to Joseph and Alice Miller Nation. She married Dodson Sinclair Smith on Nov. 6, 1939, in Gonzales. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, served on the church usher board and as secretary of the St. Rose Cemetery Association. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include four sons, Dodson Smith Jr., Archie Smith and Mitchell Smith, all of Beeville, and Clarence E. Smith of Coolidge; four daughters, Alice Florence Farris of San Antonio, Essie Raye Langley, Christine Smith and Carolyn Jackson, all of Beeville; 38 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; four nieces; four nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Tarver officiating. Interment followed at St. Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gabriel Smith, Mitchell Smith, Joe Smith, Robert Farris, Lymas Ray Langley and Charles Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Amos Langley, Eric Dunn, Tercel Johnson, Denzel Green, Justin Johnson and Richard Mojica.
